This Week at The Woodshed

It has been a lovely week here on Saltspring Island with a bustling shop, the first wedding of the season at beautiful Lost Field Farm, some very speciall private dining events and a kitchen full to the brim with the local harvest.

Some of the the highlights of the harvest will be featured in this Friday’s Moroccan menu; gorgeous Summer squash (the first of the season) fresh basil and mint from our garden, tender baby spinach, fragrant green garlic and more…

This menu makes a lovely meal to enjoy alfresco; in your backyard, on the patio or packed picnic style to the beach.The chicken tagine as always is made with beautiful whole organic chickens, ensuring fantastic flavour and quality. Each tagine set will have a section of light and dark meat and will be served on fragrant herbed couscous; to be enjoyed warm out of the oven or chilled as a picnic dish.

In the shop this week we will have lots of local flowers including my absolute favourite, peonies, as well as the first of the season island strawberries. We look forward to seeing you in the shop!
